Leyouyou (Yoyo) TANG
Master of Behavioral and Decision Sciences in UPenn; Undergrad majored in Economics and Psychology at Bates College.
What are your current duties?
I’m a newbie academic manager! I’m mainly in charge of communicating and collaborating with the professors, and coordinating the online and onsite research programs, as the key contact person at GEC for the professors.
What made you choose GEC Academy?
People! And my hidden passion in the education industry.
Even though I’m not an education major, most of my previous experiences are about education. I love staying with children and spreading positive energy to people around me, and I enjoy giving other positive influences. That’s why I chose the education industry. And I chose (luckily GEC also chose me) GEC because of the people here. When I talked to Eva in our first call, when I had the first and second interview with Tracy and the manager Xu, and when I worked with and learned from my dear colleagues for the first time, I knew that I came to the right place. People at GEC are all enthusiastic, energetic, and caring. I could sense that everyone really want to help me grow and pass me their kindness. I feel secure working at GEC.
What are your specialisms and interests?
I won’t call myself a dancer but I do spend most of my leisure time dancing. I have learned Chinese traditional dance for over 10 years and almost go to a professional dance college (luckily I didn’t or you won’t see this page hahaha). Several years ago I decided to learn some new dance genres like Jazz, hiphop, and choreography. I’m always down for learning a new kind of dance even though I know I would be hilarious in the dance class (I tried hard to stop laughing at myself in my first Popping class). And I’m always ready to do any kind of sport: boxing, cycling, Pilates, swimming, working out…… Hit me up if you want to find a workout buddy!
