We provide an enriched variety of programs with an emphasis on Project-based Learning (PBL), both on-site and online, that have helped countless students get ahead. Our unparalleled methods help participants prepare for the next step in their academic and career development and broaden their horizons. Our course offering is created for individuals or groups of all ages and academic levels. Students will experience the teaching style of Western Education classrooms and develop reasonably close contact with GEC teaching staff. Every GEC program has a significant hands-on component where students work on research projects (either in groups or alone) closely related to the subject they are studying.
Why Project Based Learning？
Project-based learning is an instructional approach designed to give students the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills through engaging projects set around challenges and problems they may face in the real world.
Project-based learning, or PBL, is more than just projects. As the Buck Institute for Education (BIE) explains, with PBL students "investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging, and complex problem, or challenge" with deep and sustained attention. ArchForKids LLC put it even more succinctly: PBL is "learning by doing."
What is the Benefit of Online Learning?
Conventional learning for many embraced an old-fashioned way of teaching, involving an instructor and students in a classroom setting - however, as GEC Academy has demonstrated for many years, online learning provides more flexibility than ever - regardless of COVID-19, which, indeed, has forced parents and students alike to rethink what a traditional learning environment looks like.Since the pandemic, it’s become one of the only ways to learn for entire populations of students all over the world. Online learning opens more doors, allowing students to have greater control of the structure of learning, and offering chances for instructors to interact with students all over the world.
Who Will Be Teaching the Programs?
GEC’s faculty are distinguished educators and scholars drawn from major universities all over the world. For different types of programs, students will be taught by a different professional teaching team, typically comprising a leading instructor, a teaching assistant, and a program coordinator.

How Do We Guarantee the Quality?
The reputation of the online teaching business in China has been negatively affected by some companies which provide poor-quality education while guaranteeing letters of recommendation by faculty to all students. GEC has worked very hard to counter the practices of these “letter-mills” by focusing on recruiting the highest quality instructors to teach well-designed and rigorous courses. GEC recruits its faculty from top universities. Some are emeritus faculty with decades of teaching and research experience, while others are mid-career at their home institutions.In addition to GEC faculty, all instructors including mentors and TAs will be evaluated on a program-to-program basis.
PATH Academics Online Research Programs
PATH Academics is an education brand specifically designated for GEC online programs. All GEC online programs can be classified into two major types: PATH Academics Group Research Seminar and PATH Academics Customized (Individualized) Research Seminar. PATH Academics programs are built on the principle of student-centered inquiry-based learning and are designed to allow students to identify and cultivate their academic interests while developing research skills.
Onsite Research Bootcamp
During Winter and Summer Chinese school holidays (February and July/August), GEC runs on-site programs called ‘AI HUB’, usually in Beijing or Shanghai. Our AI HUB features a cluster of intensive courses focusing on interdisciplinary studies in science, engineering, social sciences, and humanities. Courses will feature the latest trends in research methods, sometimes combining data analysis or artificial intelligence with a specific research area, should it be astrophysics, healthcare, psychology, etc.
Online Academic Writing Course
GEC Online Academic Writing course navigates into the world of academic writing, research writing, articles, conferences, journals, and publications. Students will receive live teaching on research paper writing skills as well as supervision in order to ensure students' written quality, academic integrity, and completion on a timely basis.
IPQ Learning Center
The OxfordAQA International Independent Project Qualification (International IPQ) is a project-based qualification that helps students develop research and independent learning skills, specifically designed for international students. Launched by Oxford AQA, IPQ is one of the earliest qualifications catered for international students’ necessity to their learning capacity as well as independent and critical thinking, which is highly praised and accepted by many colleges and universities across the world.
